new eye drop for glaucoma, Alphagan (brimonidine)

This month Allergan is launching a new eye drop for glaucoma, Alphagan (brimonidine).

Alphagan is a selective alpha-2 agonist. It lowers intraocular pressure by reducing fluid production in the eye...AND increasing its outflow.

It'll be used as an alternative for patients who can't tolerate or don't respond to topical beta-blockers (Timoptic, etc).
