Experts are debating whether angiotensin receptor blockers should be used to prevent nephropathy in type 2 diabetes.

ACE inhibitors are the drugs of choice to prevent diabetic nephropathy. Now there's growing evidence that angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) also slow the progression of renal disease.
