Amitiza (lubiprostone) will come in a new lower strength for treating irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C)
June 2008
Amitiza (lubiprostone) will come in a new lower strength for treating irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C).
It's the only drug approved for this condition now that Zelnorm (tegaserod) is restricted to emergency use only.
So far, this new indication is just for women...not men.
