benefit of two of the newer drugs for osteoporosis

There's good news about the benefit of two of the newer drugs for osteoporosis...Evista (raloxifene) and Fosamax (alendronate).

Evista has now been shown to prevent FRACTURES...initially it was shown just to increase bone density.

Evista cuts the risk of spinal fractures in half...in postmenopausal women who take it for two years. There's no info yet on whether Evista reduces hip fractures.
