Roche is now marketing Fortovase, a "stronger" version of the HIV protease inhibitor Invirase (saquinavir).
Both Fortovase and Invirase contain 200 mg of saquinavir...but Fortovase comes as a soft gel capsule to improve absorption.
Fortovase is also given in a higher dose. Patients take Fortovase 1200 mg TID (18 caps/day)...TWICE the dose of Invirase.
