Posicor can increase serum levels of certain drugs
Posicor can increase serum levels of certain drugs...by inhibiting hepatic metabolism.
DON'T prescribe Posicor with Seldane (terfenadine)...Hismanal (astemizole)...or Propulsid (cisapride)...because of the risk of arrhythmias.
Some other drugs also interact with Posicor, so patients might need LOWER doses of them...some benzodiazepines...tricyclic antidepressants...antiarrhythmics...statins...and cyclosporine. Roche is now introducing Posicor (mibefradil), a new calcium blocker for hypertension and angina.
