The FDA just approved Viramune (nevirapine)
The FDA just approved Viramune (nevirapine)...the FIFTH new antiviral for HIV in just the last 6 months.
Viramune is the first drug in a new class called non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs). It inhibits the same enzyme as AZT...but it works in a different way.
Experts don't yet know exactly how to use this drug.
