Boehringer Ingelheim will soon market Combivent, an inhaler that combines two different bronchodilators.
It has the anticholinergic, ipratropium (Atrovent)...and the beta-agonist, albuterol (Ventolin, etc).
Some patients already mix these two drugs in a nebulizer. This is the first time they're available together in an inhaler.
