eliminate dangerous abbreviations
You'll see new efforts to eliminate dangerous abbreviations.
Starting in January, hospitals and other facilities will no longer allow U...IU...QD...QOD...trailing zeros on doses...lack of a leading zero for doses less than 1...and the drug abbreviations MS, MSO4, and MgSO4.
So far this is only mandated in hospitals and other JCAHO-accredited organizations...but the trend will spread.
