Watch for Cabenuva, a New Monthly Injectable for HIV
Cabenuva (cabotegravir/rilpivirine) will be the first MONTHLY antiretroviral treatment for adults living with HIV.
It’s given as two IM gluteal injections at the same visit. Each Cabenuva kit has one vial of cabotegravir, an integrase inhibitor...and one vial of rilpivirine, a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor.
Viral load suppression with Cabenuva seems similar to standard 3-med oral DAILY regimens, such as Biktarvy or Triumeq.
