Eraxis (anidulafungin) for serious Candida fungal infections
June 2006
Pfizer will be promoting Eraxis (anidulafungin) for serious Candida fungal infections.
It's similar to Cancidas (caspofungin) and Mycamine (micafungin). These "candins" inhibit formation of the fungal cell wall.
Eraxis is given IV. It will be used for candidemia and seems more effective than fluconazole.
