Abbott is now marketing Depakote ER, a new ONCE-DAILY divalproex tablet...but it's only approved for preventing migraines.

Depakote ER comes in 500 mg tablets. The usual dose for migraine prevention is 1 to 2 tablets once a day.

Don't substitute regular Depakote for Depakote ER...or the other way around. They're not bioequivalent.
