Some epileptic patients will be put on Gabitril (tiagabine).
It's used as adjunctive therapy for partial seizures.
Gabitril is thought to work by blocking the reuptake of GABA...the major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the CNS. The increased GABA levels "apply the brakes" to inhibit seizures.
