Flovent, a new steroid inhaler for asthma

Glaxo is launching Flovent, a new steroid inhaler for asthma. It contains fluticasone...the same steroid that's in the nasal inhaler, Flonase.

Flovent will come in three strengths...44, 110, and 220 mcg per puff. Each strength is intended for different situations.

The lowest strength is for mild asthma...patients using just bronchodilators. Either the low or medium strength can be used for patients already using inhaled steroids.
