Patients are complaining that Qualaquin, the only quinine that FDA allows on the market, is too expensive.
It's a complicated tangle. Quinine had never been approved by the FDA. It was on the market before approval was required.
When FDA finally considered studies and approved Qualaquin last year, they decided it was safe ONLY for malaria...and not for leg cramps. And they took the non-approved quinines off the market.
