new once-a-day antihistamine for allergies called Zyrtec (ZIR-tec, cetirizine)
Pfizer's coming out with a new once-a-day antihistamine for allergies called Zyrtec (ZIR-tec, cetirizine).
The company will promote it as "low-sedating."
Zyrtec is a metabolite of hydroxyzine (Vistaril, Atarax, etc). It's LESS sedating than hydroxyzine or diphenhydramine...but MORE than the "NON-sedating" ones...Seldane, Hismanal or Claritin.
