This Enduring Material activity, Prescriber's Letter CME-in-the-Letter, has been reviewed and is acceptable for credit by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Approved for 1.0 AAFP Prescribed credits. Term of approval begins 05/01/2018. Term of approval is for one year from this date. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

AOA:

Prescriber's Letter is eligible for AOA Category 2-B credit. Each monthly issue is 1 hour. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that s/he actually spent in the educational activity.

ACEP:

Approved by the American College of Emergency Physicians for a maximum of 12.00 hour(s) of ACEP Category I credit. Each monthly issue is 1 credit.

Physician Assistants::

AAPA and NCCPA accept AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ from organizations accredited by ACCME. Therapeutic Research Center is accredited by ACCME. NCCPA accepts AAFP Prescribed credits for recertification.

AANP logoTherapeutic Research Center / Prescriber's Letter is accredited by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners as an approved provider of nurse practitioner continuing education. Provider number: 080517. This activity has been approved for 12 contact hours of continuing education (which includes 12 hours of pharmacology). Each issue is 1 contact hour. This credit is accepted by ANCC. AANPCB and ANCC accept AAFP Prescribed credits for recertification. Credit in all states may be claimed for one year from the date of each issue.


Physicians in Canada:

Members of The College of Family Physicians of Canada are eligible to receive Mainpro®-M2 credits (equivalent to AAFP Prescribed credits) due to a reciprocal agreement with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Therapeutic Research Center CME activities are eligible for either Section 2 or Section 4 (when creating a personal learning project) in the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).

Target Readers / Needs Assessment:

This activity is intended for physicians and other healthcare team members. These clinicians have expressed their need to learn about new developments in drug therapy by subscribing to TRC.

CME Objectives:

After reading Prescriber's Letter, participants will be able to identify emerging trends in drug therapy; evaluate the role of new drugs and new indications in the continuum of care; summarize new therapeutic guidelines; recognize new contraindications and interactions; and promote patient safety through appropriate selection and monitoring of drug therapy.

Participation / Time To Complete:

Credit will be awarded to participants who answer at least 70% of the quiz questions correctly online. After successful completion of this course, the statement of participation/course completion may be printed online. The estimated time needed to read and reflect on each issue of Prescriber's Letter and complete the post-test is one hour. Credit may be claimed for one year from the date of each issue.
