There's now a new lower-strength Soma (carisoprodol) tablet.

The new 250 mg dose is promoted as being just as effective, but better tolerated, than the original 350 mg dose.

Both strengths are given QID and have similar modest effects for acute low back pain. But the lower dose causes a little less drowsiness...about 13% of users versus 17%.
